All-new for 2011 is a driver and front passenger seat-mounted pelvic and thorax airbags[1] – standard on all Grand Cherokee models. They provide enhanced thorax protection, and work together with side-curtain airbags[1] to help protect the driver and front passenger during side-impact and rollover events. Each airbag deploys independently; so a left side impact deploys the left bag only and a right-side impact deploys only the right bag.
